Covert Surveillance Workshops for both the experienced, licensed Investigator and the novice investigator are conducted by the Australian School of Security and Investigations. The workshops are both classroom and field based with participants being exposed to many facets of covert surveillance including the latest:
- Mobile surveillance techniques
- Foot surveillance techniques
- Setting up surveillance vehicles
- Surveillance logs
- Static observation posts
- Pretext approaches
- Covert camera hides
- Covert application of video cameras
- Occupational health and safety
These are not "theory only" workshops. Participants carry out various forms of physical surveillance in true life situations with one-on-one guidance from some of Australia's most highly trained surveillance investigators. The workshops culminate in a major exercise where participants can clearly see the results of their efforts over the three days of the workshop duration.
Course participants utilise state of th art communication systems and are taught the techniques of gathering information covertly using a technique called "Reverse perspective Surveillance". Training in the use of hidden cameras is included.
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will be eligible for the award of a Certificate of Completion and a Statement of Attainment will be issued which acknowledges completion of four nationally accredited competencies contained in the Certificate III in Investigations.
